25,000 people from 90 different countries are converging on Las Vegas this week. Most will be looking for a ride.
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions is creating its own theme park of sorts at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
It's all about the serious business of having a good time. The $24 billion Global Amusement Park industry's main trade show is playing Vegas this week for the first time.
"There are theme parks all around the country. We're pretty well saturated; there (are) few, if any, major metro areas that don't have a theme park," said Paul Ruben, North American editor of Park World magazine.
A hard to miss exhibit at the expo is the Snow Magic machine which makes up to 80,000 pounds of the white stuff a day. It's popular in warmer climates such as Las Vegas.
The convention, which runs from Tuesday through Friday, is expected to pump $40 million into the local economy. It is not open to the public.
